Our Voices: Eric Wilcoxon, Wilcoxon Insurance Agency


As I have gotten older and spent as much
time in this business as I have, I think it’s all about relationships. And it’s
relationships between the customers and myself and the relationships that I have
with with the companies that I represent. I’ve said this a lot, and then people
think it’s a sales tactic — but it’s not. My insureds are always going to
be a policy number with whatever carrier they’re with. When I become a agency code
or an agency number with that company, I’ve lost value. When I can pick up the
phone and call my underwriter — they know me, they know who I am, they know my
voice — I can call several of my people, several of the company staff on
their cell phones. I can text, email, whatever. There’s a big value in that. I
think it helps my insurance and I know it helps me.
