Homesick Meghan Markle searches for holiday home in US beachside celebrity enclave Malibu

Los Angeles native Meghan is said to be desperate to return home and the couple reportedly have their sights set on a home in the exclusive Malibu area  Malibu is home to stars such as Kim Kardashian and Leonardo DiCaprio and the average three-bedroom house can cost nearly $7million (£5 7million). Los Angeles cafe owner Edmund Fry said former Suits TV actress Meghan “misses home” and wants a bolthole for herself, Prince Harry and their baby son Archie   Mr Fry, 79, said he first met Meghan when he taught her royal etiquette at Rose Tree Cottage, his quaint English tea house in LA, after she began dating Harry   She also visited while she was preparing to meet the Queen for the first time, he said   Mr Fry, who moves in high society circles in the UK and USA and is still connected to Meghan through mutual friends, said: “Meghan and Harry are looking for a place out here I have heard that they are interested in Malibu.  “Knowing Meghan and talking to her, she misses home Meghan is a Los Angeles girl, born and raised here with many links to Hollywood and friends here   “It is possible to live stress-free and out of the glare of publicity here. LA and California are so huge, it is easy to escape to places with your family and just blend in with everyone   “Many celebrities with families live their lives day to day without making a big deal of their fame, while enjoying all the great places that this area has to offer   “People in this town see celebrities all the time and do not clamour for photos or interfere in their lives, so that would be an advantage for them ”   Mr Fry said Meghan’s LA business friends had been scouting Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway and Pasadena   Meghan and Harry have come under fire for their lavish spending, including £2.4million on renovating their Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage   They also been criticised for using private jets and yachts while lecturing the public on environmental issues   Mr Fry, who once worked at Fortnum & Mason, in London’s Piccadilly, said Malibu would be “magnificent for a young family” and Harry “will do very well here”   And he joked his tea house would happily supply Harry with home comforts, saying: “He will get everything he needs here – his bangers and bacon I mean, she has changed his diet to a degree, but all the necessary food he can get here in Los Angeles, particularly at Rose Tree We carry it all.”  When she visited Rose Tree Cottage, Mr Fry said Meghan tucked into a traditional afternoon tea of cucumber and roast beef sandwiches and scones with jam and cream, before asking about royal protocol   Mr Fry said Meghan was a natural when it came to the basics of how to hold cups and glasses, using knives and forks and conversation pointers    Even though she was dating Harry, Mr Fry takes credit for Meghan’s fondness for British traditions and said she did not have a “love for England” at their first meeting   “I don’t think she did,” he said. “I think she fell in love with England when she came to Rose Tree Cottage ”  Mr Fry said he and his wife Mary “had no clue” about Meghan’s fame during her trips, recalling: “When she first came with friends, we didn’t know who she was because Meghan didn’t make her own reservation, her friends made the reservation ”  Mr Fry also says Archie’s middle name, Harrison, is not a nod to Star Wars actor Harrison Ford, but Beatle George Harrison   Like Fab Four fan Meghan, Harrison, who died in 2001, was a devotee of meditation, yoga and breathing exercises “She was inspired by the man and his beliefs and that had a great deal to do with it,” Mr Fry said   He said Meghan was “doing a great job” and was “the future of the Royal Family”   “I do not hear people ever say anything negative about her here,” he said. “They are very proud that an American and Los Angeleno has become a princess   “Meghan is a very special woman and someone who will change the world and achieve many good things ”
