Happy Holidays from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency

Happy holidays from the Michigan
Veterans Affairs Agency. As we reflect on the past year I am so very proud of our
work to break down barriers veterans face in education, employment, health care and quality of life. This year we held 13 veteran listening sessions around the
state where I had the opportunity to listen to the concerns of many veterans.
Our Veteran Resource Center helped more than 8,000 veterans with their DD 214
and handled over 2,000 emergency assistance cases, and over 2000
information cases. But our work is far from done. We look forward to helping
even more veterans in 2020 in making Michigan a great place for veterans to
call their home. While the holiday season is a great time to celebrate with family
and friends, I encourage you to check on your military brothers and sisters, who
might be alone during this time. And if you’re a veteran in crisis or someone
who’s serving in crisis, or you know one of those people, please don’t hesitate to
call the VA Veteran Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255 Happy Holidays and best wishes for a wonderful new year.

  1. Thank you. Happy Holiday to you and all the veterans out there this holiday season. I have one concern I wish that you would look into. Please help establish a day of honor here in the state of Michigan for Atomic Veterans, July 16 as a forever honoring those who served. Two years ago the state approved resolution 72 and 73, but there never moved forward to establish permanence. Let's move them forward and establish a special day for them and set up a memorial site in Lansing honoring them. Toni Clark

  2. Please consider making this site a "check-marked" authentic site, much like President Trump and the White House. I hope my computer isn't getting attempted hacks here…
